This thesis resort to related theories of marine insurance, research from a number of different standpoints, like general provisions, covered risk, and exclusions as to the related terms of several influential charterers’liability insurance organizations, aiming at providing new experience and reference for the cover of charterers’liability insurance.Chapter one of this thesis makes a brief introduction of charterers’liability insurance, defines the implication, nature and feature of this insurance, introduces the three modes of terms, as well as lists a few covered insurance organizations. Chapter two gives a macro introduction of general provisions and analysis several matters in those terms and conditions.Chapter three analyses in detail the covered risk of charterers’liability insurance, including DTH liability, general average liability, which answered in which case the insured can be indemnified. Chapter four answer from the exclusion angel when the insured cannot be paid.In the last part of this thesis, chapter five, the author describes the recent development of charterers’liability insurance in China. In fact, the foregoing terms and conditions provide an objective lesson to terms and conditions of CPI, according to which the author raises a few standpoint to the improvement of CPI terms.
