Considering the current trend of reform on higher education at homeand abroad, it has become one of the core contents to strengthen thegeneral education. General education was gradually accepted andidentified within our educational circles since the middle of nineteennineties. Most domestic universities, especially "211" universities haveset up the general education curriculum, and constructed the curriculumsystem and implementation plan with their special characteristics, whichimproved the teaching and research level effectively. General education isbecoming the famous brand and intangible assets of each university(Suchas,“Yuanpei Program” of Peking University,“Liyun Project” of BeijingNormal University,“Boya Education Plan” of Sun Yat-sen University.The public courses and cross-cultural courses focusing on quality inTibet University have made great achievements, and played an importantrole in training high-quality talents, maintaining national unity and socialstability since its implementation. However, there are still big gapsbetween Tibet University and other universities in Mainland China on thetraining objectives, curriculum arrangements, teaching methods.Therefore, the integration and optimization of curriculum resources areimperative in the process of implementation of general education in TibetUniversity. We must plan carefully in advance and carry out generaleducation in accordance with the scientific steps actively and steadily, for the reform on general education curriculum system involves many factorsand has a far-reaching effect. The thesis is divided into6main parts:Introduction: A general survey of the background and connotation ofgeneral education, the significance of research, objectives, contents,perspectives, the points of main ideas and innovations;Chapter1: To strengthen the necessity of general education inimproving education quality in Tibet University, introduce the generaleducation in domestic and foreign universities, and put forwards thenecessity of general education implementation in Tibet University;Chapter2: Focusing on6aspects: the training objectives, curriculum,teaching methods, teacher resources, curriculum evaluation, themanagement system, and discussing the existing problems on the currentpublic courses and cross-cultural courses focusing on quality;Chapter3: Based on survey of curriculum courses setting at homeand abroad, rules and mode of arrangement to explore the feasibility ofcurrent core curriculum construction;Chapter4: To discuss the implementation problems on the generaleducation curriculum in Tibet University from6aspects;Chapter5: Keeping an eye on5aspects to illustrate general prospecton general education and its core curriculum courses setting.
