Wedlock and divorce are the different states of marriage. The mainbody of marriage is person, so marriage must be social behavior. As asocial behavior, marriage has integral contact with social basicelements. Both of them influence each other, further, have arelationship of interaction.The reform and opening-up policy has led to tremendous changesin China, so this country has entered into a new era of reform. Thegreat changes from daily life to superstructure influence China,especially the economic system. The once traditional country isbecoming more and more open since being admitted to a member ofWTO, and alien culture spurred the traditions to change, such as, lifestyle and marriage. Nowadays, the divorce rate in China showed anoverall upward trend, and it has been a universal problem.This paper tries to analyze the cause of high divorce rate frommany different perspectives in the background of social reform. Thewriter made some objective analyses about this phenomenon not onlyfrom macro level such as social reform, but from micro level such asValues and views of marriage. As an end, the writer put forward somesuggestions on marriage.
