In recent years, the whole society is shocked by high frequency of food safety accidents, traffic accidents and production safety accidents, so that the "social responsibility" comes into the public view, and people start to think about social responsibility companies. In sportsdom, with the rapid development of professional sports leagues, professional sports organizations are getting stronger. But prosperity cannot cover up all the problems such as match-fixing, NBA lockout, especially in professional sports event. Now scholars generally agree that professional sports organizations have business nature. Facing the whole society, should professional sports organizations take social responsibilities? What kind of social responsibilities should professional sports organizations take?In1924, the British scholar Oliver Sheldon proposed the "corporate social responsibility" concept, which attracts scholars’attention. In different historical periods, the understanding of social responsibility is different, but the core is the same. Social responsibility means that the individual takes the responsibility and mission of others and the society. The study of corporate social responsibility in China is at an early age. The study of CSR of professional sports organizations is few. So, this article is just a preliminary theoretical analysis.This paper describes the characteristics of professional sports organizations, using Porter’s five forces model to clarify the stakeholders. Basing on stakeholder theory, the writer thinks that the professional sports organizations should take economic responsibility, legal responsibility, ethical responsibility, discretionary or philanthropic responsibility, culture transmission responsibility and development responsibility. The writer believes that in order to better development, Chinese professional sports organizations should focus on social responsibilities.
