| Along with the upgrading of China’s national comprehensive strength,science andtechnology played a very far-reaching role. A country’s prosperity cannot be separated from thesupport of science and technology. Besides, science and scientific spirit has played an importantrole in the development of mankind as a whole. However, it is necessary to pay attention to thefact that the popularization of science and scientific spirit is not enough. Currently, people do nothave a comprehensive understanding of scientific spirit, and the phenomenon of a serious lackof scientific spirit even exists in the best institutions of higher learning in our country, which areon behalf of the output of China’s higher talents. Students from China’s institutions of highereducation are typical representatives. Although these college students access to the mostadvanced education，they occasionally do not believe in science, blindly believe feudalsuperstition, do not advocate the scientific knowledge, or do not think by using rational thought.They often ignore the true meaning of the science, neglect the meaning of scientific doctrine, orabandone the essence of scientific spirit. It is the only way to ensure the progress of humancivilization, the continuous development of society and the prosperity of our country by realizingthe connotation of the scientific spirit, adhering to the scientific point of view to study hard andto research assiduously and implementing the strategies of reinvigorating China through scienceand education.This thesis is composed of four parts. It takes college students as typicalrepresentatives and analyses and solves problems through the essence and core of scientific spirit.To begin with, the first part elaborates the origin of scientific spirit and emphasizes on themanifestations of scientific spirit. Because the thesis takes college students as representatives, itlays stress on analyzing the nature of scientific spirit of college students and divides it into fourcategories, which are sceptical and critical spirit, innovative spirit, the spirit of seeking truthfrom facts and the spirit of dedication and collaboration. Furthermore, the second part discussesthe status of college students being deficient in scientific siprit from four aspects. Firstly, theyare not qualified to establish a system in their expertise. Secondly, they are lack of the spirit of scientifically speculating. Thirdly, academic corruption occurs frequently. Forthly, superstitionand blind worship is increasingly fierce. Moreover. the third part analyses reasons of scientificspirit deficiency of college students according to a comprehensive understanding of its currentsituation. The reasons include the lack of theoretical knowledge, the impact of the traditionalmode of education and the influence of social factors. Last but not the least, the forth part centreson expounding the construction of scientific spirit of college students in the fields of vigorouslycarrying forward the correct view of world, comprehensively pushing forward the reform ofhigher education and strengthening efforts to spread scientific knowledge. |
