Leadership is one of the core competitivenesses of all human organizations. With the higher development of information era, to cultivate good employees becomes a critically important and urgent mission for the higher vocational education. To complete this mission does not depends upon hard work of the teachers only, but also upon the management level of the administrative team, especially mid-level managers. It is a good job to evaluate managers’leadership of higher vocational education colleges scientifically, which can provide scientific evidence for improving managers’managing level and capability and find the weak points of management. The embarrassment now is the lacking of well performed model, which evaluate the leadership of managers’in higher vocational education colleges. We were trying to deal with this problem.This research work could be divided into three main parts. First is the construction of leadership evaluation index system, which is based on the literature analysis and Delphi method; the second part is constructing the model of leadership based on the index system; and there is a case analysis in the third part.Through the research of leadership for mid-level managers in higher vocational education colleges, the main points and contribution are as follows:1) The leadership evaluation index system and model did not only consider common characters of leadership, but also the unique characters of mid-level managers in higher vocational education colleges. And the model can be well applied to them. 2) The evaluation model as a quantitative tool is more objective, it overcomes the weak points of traditional measures, and it is well performed in the assessment.We expect the conclusions of this research can provide a convinced and powerful tool for the evaluation of mid-level managers in higher vocational education colleges, which can change the subjective evaluation during the selection of leaders.
