China’s private universities started in the80s of last century, Under the nationalpolicy support and their own efforts, after30years of development, It has now begunto take shape, made a lot of good results.These achievements, in addition to all levelsof government, university staff’s efforts, there can not be ignored in a creditcounselor.because of varying quality, the private college students need to have aspecial idea guide, so private college counselors are the backbone of ideological andpolitical education of students.For a long time, college counselors are not takenseriously,so it led to the delayed construction, the team instability, irrational structure,the overall quality is not high, the lack of specialized knowledge of nucleartechnology and, therefore, in the new situation, strengthen the building of privatecollege counselors and management is very important.This paper study on the college counselors, after reading a lot of literature. Thepaper use the knowledge of management, psychology, education, ideological,politicaland other related principles.This paper elaborated the concept,characteristics,types,and the necessary existence of the private college counselors.According to"asking questions, analyze problems, solve problems", this paper foundthe currentproblems of private colleges, included: the overall quality is not high；the degree ofspecialization is low;counselor staff structure is irrational;the level of professionalismis low;.Then this paper analysis the reasons of the problems in private collegecounselors, included: the attention and guidance counselors is notenough;management mechanism of instructor is not perfect.There are also somereasons about the counselors themselves.This paper also made some suggestions, suchas paying attention to the work of counselors, improving counselor recruitment andmanagement systems, promoting professional counselors, improving the overallquality of instructors.This paper could provide construction and management forprivate college counselors.
