In the context of the reform of the new curriculum of senior school, more and moreattention has been paid to the core concept that“Protruding students as the principalpart and respecting the differences of the student individuals”. That is to say, allstudents, regardless of how disparate difference in their personality, have the equalOpportunity of comprehensive development. However, the reality of the situation is the opposite. Due to constraints, thetraditional class teaching is still the main mode of delivery in the secondary education, the large class size made the teacher difficult to take care of all the individualdifferences of students, As a result, the individual differences of students are ignored oreven to be blotted. The end result is that the top students’ learning potential has nochance to be played fully meanwhile the poor students can not follow the teachers’instruction. The gap between the top students the poor students become growinggradually. This is contrary to the core concept of the new curriculum standards. On the contrary, Group-based teaching takes all students’ different characteristicsinto consideration and makes all students have the equal chance to develop and improveregardless of differences in their characteristics by means of drafting different teachingobjectives, processing different teaching procedure and adopting different evaluationand incentive mechanisms. This thesis is a combination of theory and practice. It is mainly depended as“Recent Development Theory”,“Optimization theory “and “Study-grasping Theory”. Inorder to make the paper more convincing, a lot of survey has been made by the authorin his class as a senior English teacher.
