The Diagnosis And Ascension On Postgraduates’Research Ability

Postgraduate Students’learning has from the knowledge to research, so research ability has become the centre of their study. While, thesis is the centralized embodiment of research ability, which can reflect elementary knowledge, professional skill, innovation ability of postgraduates, which is also a good view of diagnosis and ascension to research ability.This study chose some postgraduates’theses of principle of pedagogy major from the six normal university directly administrated by Ministry of Education. This study did some statistics and analysis on the sample by the method of content analysis from four aspects-theme, research method, literature review and references. And then it discovered some existing problem of postgraduates’research ability, searching for the reasons behind the problem by interview, proposing some suggestions arounding the process of finishing the degree thesis to improve their research ability.This paper abided by the conventional logic that from problems to reasons and to suggestions, and mainly includes the following five parts:Chapter one expounded the origin and value of this study, explained the basic concepts, collected and assessed related research from home and abroad, to make a starting of this study.Chapter two expounded the research plan. This chapter brought out the problems this paper trying to solve, showed out the sample extraction process and result, described the methods of this study, made the flow chart, to display the whole picture of this study.Chapter three analysed the problems of research ability reflected by theses. By the statistics, this chapter founded out following problems of Postgraduates’research ability:thesis is repeated and broad; method is regular and its expression is confused; there are too much domestic literature review with so little literature comments; there are so little foreign references and some references lacking of standardization.Chapter four discussed the reasons behind the problems from the view of complete process of thesis. By interview, this chapter founded out the reason has focused on the following aspects:the lake of research training, the vague understanding of these, the weak of conduction and the poor language and skill.Chapter five tried to put forward some suggestions to advance postgraduates’ research ability by using degree theses as following:opening degree thesis appreciation class on regular learning, making the revise gathering after dissertation proposal meeting, adding research process and record in thesis defense and so on, so that to enhance their research ability by the static resource and dynamic process.On the part of deficiency and outlook, although this study has got some conclusions, yet it still existed some problems on sample, statistics and so on, needing further learning to get continuous improvement.
