College is an important period for students to accumulate knowledge, build the character and explore the society, as well as a significant transitional phase to become mature, step into the society from campus and accomplish socialization missions. However, the situation of interpersonal interaction among college students and many college students’interpersonal interaction ability are not satisfactory and because of that, many malignant incidents have occurred. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the interpersonal situation and the interpersonal interaction ability of college students.Current research focus mostly on the properties, range, contents, function, significance, basic theory and affecting factors but rarely on the lately situation of college students’interpersonal interaction in modern society. Meanwhile, there is no systematic training program including curriculum and practice to improve the interpersonal interaction ability of college students. This essay aims to propose a whole project for college students to improve their ability.This essay contains the empirical research of current situation of college students’ interpersonal interaction and a project to improve their ability.With Questionnaire of Basic Situation of College Students’Interpersonal Relationship and Questionnaire of Interpersonal Interaction Ability, we investigated843students from Shandong University and analyzed the result. The result shows that college students are not quite satisfactory of the interpersonal relationships with classmates and roommates; the percentage of high score of interpersonal interaction is20.40%, about5%higher than average but the percentage of low score is26.69%,11%higher than the average. Contemporary college students are not good at active correspondence, appropriate decline, self-expression and emotional support, especially emotional support, but they are good at conflict management. Interaction between opposite sex, student leaders and common students and special groups are the main aspects of interpersonal interaction disturbance. This essay proposes strategies in two ways, curriculum and practical projects. The curriculum contains the basic theory of interpersonal relationships and the combination of other subjects, with different contents for different students. The practical projects contains projects via participation (outward bound and group counseling), projects via experience (interpersonal interaction experiencing game and interpersonal interaction melodrama, projects via counseling (advisory studio for vulnerable people and advisory studio for students in love). Therefore, theoretical knowledge and practice will be combined in order to improve college students’interpersonal interaction ability.
