In recent years, the party and government attach great importance tothe graduate student ideological and political education, and have issued aseries of documents to strengthen it. Therefore, new requirements are putforward to it, too.Based on the tracking method, questionnaire survey method andinterdisciplinary approach, this paper tries to grasp the current situation ofgraduate student ideological and political education, and point outexperiential education method to optimize the current situation.This paper firstly expounds the connotation and characteristics of theexperiential education, and then discusses the graduate student ideologicaland political education from following four aspects: the educators, thelearners, the mediators and the environment. Through the theoretical basisand practical needs and combined with the connotation and characteristicsof experiential education, the paper proposes that using experientialeducation to optimize the current graduate student ideological and politicaleducation from following eight sides: paying attention to individualpractice, strengthening the teachers and students to interact, focusing onimproving the supporting system, introducing the "three love" educationmode, strengthening the "team cohesion," shaping "mind rural", promoting"leadership quotient", and guiding "breakthrough innovation".
