Aging of population has increasingly become the focus of social problems. As aspecial group, the vital interests of the elderly should be highly valued by the governmentand the society. Population aging brings not only tremendous effect on the social andeconomic development tremendously, but also opportunity of social services and industrialdevelopment. Studying the problem of aging population, it is of great significance to enrichour elderly population research theory, safeguard the lawful rights and interests of the oldpeople, and promote social harmonious and development of economy etc.Based on analysis of the background of population ageing, the topic of Shanghaisocial economic development is introduced. Effects on the elderly service, medicalservice of endowment, aging industrial are studied deeply.The study includes:First, aging population situation and trend analysis of Shanghai. Fourth, research for aging impacting on the aging industrial development of Shanghai.The priorities of this research includes aging status of industrial development at home andabroad, elderly services and elderly services market, characteristics of consuming demandfor services of Shanghai elderly etc. This paper also uses Life-cycle theory and correlatingmodels to quantitatively descriptive the size and trends of elderly consumer market inShanghai.This paper includes research these methods: combination of qualitative research andquantitative research, combination of static analysis and dynamic forecast, combination ofinternational comparison and internal reference. Through research and analysis, this paperargues that to address the aging problem in Shanghai, we should take positive and effectivemeasures. Response should be focused on the construction of old age care system and howto guide and promote the industrial development. The main downside of this paper is that adetailed study of the problem has yet to be deepened.
