With the development of Information Technology education inChina and the advancement of the elementary education curriculumreform, the aim and concept of Information Technology curriculum havechanged greatly; moreover, the policy of "various versions for onecontent" has propelled multiple improvements for InformationTechnology textbooks. As China features a vast territory, hugepopulation, and unbalanced economy and culture, regions in China havedifferent educational levels, educational support, infrastructures, andstaff resources. Therefore, only one set of textbook, especially one set ofInformation Technology textbook, can hardly meet requirements forInformation Technology education. In this background, how to compileprofessional Information Technology textbooks to meet regionalrequirements is worth our research. This paper analyzes the research on the appropriateness ofcompiling Information Technology textbooks from two respects: One,work over the basis and principle of appropriately compiling Information Technology textbooks from the aspect of theoryconstruction. Two, survey the comprehensive perception of teachers andstudents in urban and rural areas, and then give certain proposals relatedto the text-compiling based on the version of Zhejiang EducationEdition. In the respect of theory, we deem that the appropriateness ofcompiling Information Technology textbooks contains theappropriateness of content selection, content construction, columndesign, assignment design, assorted resources, and content contact. However, according to the current results of certain investigationindicate that, despite boasting several advantages, which are to someextent accommodate to the demands of teachers as well as students inmost phases, the Zhejiang Education Edition do present theinappropriateness. In addition, people of urban and rural, teaching andaccepting, students of diverse grades, sexes, and study layers possessdifferences in perception of compiling proper textbook for InformationTechnology class. Thus, in order to achieve both the best outcome inlearning and the high estimation, there is no doubt that the differenceshould be considered as a crucial respect as the appropriateness ofediting Information Technology materials; besides, while revising theprevious edition, assuring the individual requirement of the students thatstudied in various areas, study levels, grades, and sexes should also be considered for the purpose of suiting the age, cognition, and sex ofjunior high students. The innovative point of view in this article lies in the followingdemonstration: the research is not only established on the perspective oftheory discussion, but combined with the practical investigation. It startsout from the problems in the in-using Information Technology textbookof Zhejiang Education Edition, gathers the feedbacks afterwards duringthe daily surveys and encounters among teachers and students of cityand countryside in Zhejiang Province, and figures out if there existsdiverse appropriateness of Information Technology materials amongdifferent areas, and if the textbook is capable of fulfilling functions ofboth teaching and accepting; simultaneously, it proposes ameliorativesuggestions for the improper phenomena in the textbooks, for the hopeof supplying better service in compiling high-level InformationTechnology textbooks.
