The Research On The Strategy Of The Disciplinary Construction In Newly-built Colleges

Our government has begun to set up colleges in some big prefecture-level cities since1999, which make the number of the colleges rising quickly. Newly-built universities gradually grow into new reinforcements of personnel cultivation in the period of popularization education, playing more important role in our higher education system. With the tough competition of colleges, how to survive for the newly-built colleges has become a practical problem amongst many famous colleges.Disciplinary construction is the key part for a college development. But most of the newly-built colleges originate from vocational colleges and training colleges, a large amount of problems exist in their disciplinary construction. The reasons mainly include weak foundations of disciplinary construction, the lower-level of construction, as well as the insufficient fund. But subjectively these colleges have some misunderstandings about the construction, such as obscure orientation, unsound mechanism, ineffective personnel administration, lack of historical accumulation, ignorant of cultural construction, etc.With the summarization of experiences of those famous colleges home and abroad on their disciplinary layout, structure, developing strategy, administration mechanism, personnel construction, the function of disciplines, and the surroundings of the discipline.This thesis will take advantage of all the achievements, focusing on the problems in the process of disciplinary construction, analyze the different characteristics of each college, to form specific principles of disciplinary construction as follows, originality, sustainable development, key points highlight, distinguishing feature, integrity, systematic and regional features. The strategic development plan for the newly-built colleges should have the goal of cultivating full-competent talents, adapting to the demands of economic, scientific and social development, to set up distinguishing disciplinary system with the features of optimized structure, sound layout. For the operation of the disciplinary construction, the newly-built colleges should utilize all the power to optimize the administrative mechanism, to create better construction surroundings, based on the principle of man-oriented, to perfect the administrative mechanism. For the staff construction they should enforce the selection and cultivation of the academic leaders, to optimize the structure of the staff, the administrative mechanism, to set up the self-evaluation system. At last, they should focus on the disciplinary cultural construction. To build distinguishing characteristics of colleges, enhance the competence and sustainable development of each college.
