At present,in High school biology teaching, especially in the non-public, non-demonstration classroom,the phenomenons of low student participation and surface involvement are widespread. Many teachers is difficult to see the effectiveness of their efforts in the classroom.What is the status of students’participation in High school biology classroom teachint?How is the relationship between student participation and test scores.How can teacher engage students into classroom through effective teaching, then to improve the quality of student learning,so that students can really learn something in the classroom and their ability and quality increase.These are the issues of concern in this study.In this thesis, the first and second year high school students were studed.The problems about student participate in biology classroom activities were investigated.The concept of student participation in high school biology teaching and teachers’ behaviors of explain were defined through literature research.Student participation in high school biology teaching and the relationship between student participation and test scores were studied through questionnaires and classroom observation.At the same time,we preliminarily studied on the impact of teachers’behaviors of explain on student participation by using questionnaires and classroom observation,and put forward to strategies of teacher explain that improve student participation.Finally, give some enlightenment to biology education and teaching, reflect on this study,and point out the recommendations for further research.The main conclusions of this study:First, students’participation in high school biology class is not high,low enthusiasm in the classroom to speak,little time is spent on extra-curricular learning, low level of cognitive participation,more anxiety and lack of confidence on learning biology,and more sense of achievement than sense of pleasure. In addition,students participation between different schools are different.Second,there are correlations between student participation and test scores,mainly reflected in:behavior participation,cognitive participation and sense of pleasure and boredom relate to test scores;different class participation exist between students of different results.Third,There is a big influence of teachers’behaviors of explain on student participation.The explain strategies to improve student participation in biology classroom is: appropriate combination of other teaching methods for teaching;full understanding of student characteristics and ability level,then to design the right rhythm for teaching activities;contact the actual life to explain to stimulate students interest in learning;rational organize the explain contents and structure,to help students develop knowledge systems;optimized the explain language;use the multimedia and other visual auxiliary methods to explain; make effort to create opportunities for students to speak.
