Ideological and political education courses aim to help college students to foster a correct outlook of world, life, value and comprehensively enhance their ideological and political quality to make them become qualified constructors and successors of socialism with Chinese characteristics. However, disadvantages of the traditional theory of ideological and political education appear increasingly. There are still many urgent issues in the process of ideological and political teaching. Ways and means of ideological and political teaching are comparative single. Purposefulness and effectiveness of teaching are not very strong.At present, study of teaching methods for ideological and political education is increasing. One of them is the exploration of practical teaching of ideological and political education. Practical teaching has become an integral important part of theoretical teaching. On the one hand, it enriches the teaching materials; on the other hand, it is also an important means of ideological and political education for college students. Practical teaching of ideological and political education should be based on theoretical knowledge and emphasize the forms of students’initiative, creativity and practice. The main content is to make students actively participate in class teaching and out-class learning activities with direct access to the ideological and political education purposes. By means of participation in such activities, students exercise their own practical ability, communication skills, team skills, and they can apply the Marxist principle to understand, analyze and solve problems so as to achieve the purposes of ideological and political education.The thesis explores the practical teaching system of ideological and political courses of higher vocational college’s according to characteristics of higher vocational college and writer’s work experience. The Thesis is mainly divided into four parts. The first part is an introduction, describing the meaning of practical teaching, the background, significance and purpose of the study, summarizing the research at home and abroad, research methods and ideas, and pointing out shortcomings and innovation. The second part is the basis of practical teaching from the point of view of theory and practice including Marxist practical philosophy, moral education, pedagogy, and characteristics of higher vocational education and the change of educational concept. The third part is an empirical study in the practical teaching of ideological and political course in higher vocational colleges in Anhui Province by means of questionnaires among students and teachers engaged in ideological and political teaching and reflection. There is not a theoretical system similar to scientific institutions in ideological and political teaching. The organization and application is unreasonable. With reference to investigation results and combination with the writer’s practical experience in teaching, the fourth chapter summarizes the construction of the practical teaching system in higher vocational college’s ideological and political courses. It constructively puts forward strategies of ideological and political education in higher vocational practical teaching from five aspects:objective, protection, management, instructional design and evaluation.Currently, study on practical teaching in ideological and political education in higher vocational colleges is still a preliminary development stage. Therefore, the present writer selects this breakthrough point as research object of master’s thesis. Under the objective and practical principles, the present writer hopes to contribute to the practical teaching in higher vocational colleges of Anhui Province, constantly enrich and innovate in practical teaching mode, and make some constructive suggestions in order to fully exert educational function of practical teaching.
