Teachers’ teaching beliefs not only directly influence teachers’ classroomdecision-making, but they also affect teachers to understand new information and experiences.In the context of New Curriculum Reformation, the key of promoting the curriculumreformation is to change teachers’ teaching beliefs. The changes of teachers’ beliefs must leadto the changes of teachers’ teaching behaviors because teachers’ beliefs are reflected inteachers’ classroom teaching behaviors and they are mutually influenced and restricted. In thatway, what are teachers’ actual teaching beliefs in Senior High School? How do teachers ofSenior High School act in classroom teaching? And what is the relationship between teachers’actual teaching beliefs and their actual teaching behaviors? In terms of the questions above, inthe present study, the author selects33English teachers of a Senior High School in a countyas study subjects and studies their actual teaching beliefs and actual teaching behaviors byquestionnaires, classroom observations and interviews. The data collected are analyzed bySPSS19.0, the results of research are presented as follow:1) It is incomplete consistent between teachers’ identity teaching beliefs and teachers’actual teaching beliefs. The core ideas of teachers’ actual teaching beliefs are: to developlearners’ comprehensive language competence, to improve learners’ communicationcompetence and cultivate students’ learning enthusiasm, to enrich teaching resource, to seestudents as the body of the classroom teaching and see teachers as the organizers of theclassroom teaching.2) It is incomplete consistent between teachers’ identity teaching behaviors andteachers’ actual teaching behaviors. The core ideas of teachers’ actual teaching behaviors are:to show the learning objectives of this lesson through learning-plan and guide students to haveself-learning and cooperative learning, to arrange properly teaching content and teaching steps,to organize different kinds of classroom interactions, to combine traditional teaching media with modern one in classroom teaching, to speak English as possible as they can.3) It is incomplete consistent that the relationship between teachers’ actualteaching beliefs and teachers’ actual teaching behaviors. Teachers can not understandthe advanced teaching beliefs on the deep level, so it is difficult to integrate theirteaching beliefs into teaching practices.4) Teaching theory and teaching practice are mutually influenced and restricted.5) There are some differences between the inexperienced teachers and theexperienced teachers.
