Social skill is a kind of important ability to children’s future social interactions and adapting to social life,the development of social skills is an important guarantee of children’s physical and mental health development.As school education only pay attention to children’s textbook knowledge learning and the cultivation of thinking ability and relatively neglected the development of children’s social skills, which leads to some children don’t know how to do in the face of social interpersonal relationship problems.The traditional teaching mode just provide children social skills application scenarios through the way of telling stories and show pictures, largely restricted the development of children’s social skills. But the powerful virtual ability of education game can solve this problem. Therefore, it is very valuable for the design of educational game to promote the social skill of children.Based on the methods of literature analysis, case studies and game design,the research work of this paper are around the following aspects:1.Basic theory research of digital game for the development of children’s social skills.On the basis of the in-depth analysis to the theory of social skills and social skills training mode,the paper explore the best way to combine the concept of social skills training and the theory of game design in order to provide basic theory for the paper’s research on the design and develop of digital game.2.The construction of instructional design framework for digital game.On the basis of elaboration of the social skills training strategy and mode,the paper select the integrated social skills training mode suitable for this study.Reference to the overseas and domestic classic case of social skill game,the paper analyze the teaching elements and the basic structure of digital game to promote the development of children’s social skills.And on this basis to construct the instructional design framework for the digital game.3.The design of digital games to promote the development of children’s social skills.In combination with the selected teaching contents and reference to the above instructional design framework, the paper design the game-based instructional design from the aspects of learners,learning needs and learning goals.Also it guided by software engineering theory to design the digital game itself from gaming learning module, the game interface module and the learning evaluation module.4.The realization of the digital game to promote the development of children’s social skills.Guided by the above instructional design and game design,this paper combination with the selected teaching contents to develop the game which help children to develop their social skill on the Flash development platform with the Action Script3.0.Then present the game in a game-based learning website which is developed on the Dreamweaver platform and with the HTML.As the foregoing research work carrying out step by step,this study made some significant research results as following.1.Constructed the instructional design framework for the digital game.Integrated the theory of social skills, social skills training theory, game-based learning theory and combined the students’actual characteristics, this paper constructed the instructional design framework from different aspects such as the learners, learning contents, learning objectives.2.Designed the model of the game to promote the development of children’s social skills.Using object-oriented design method and considering the demand of teaching and the characteristics of students, this paper constructed the design framework of gaming software of learning system and divided it into different functional modules to do foreshadowing for the system development.3.Developed the educational game as an instance. Choose the course "I have many good friends" from "Morality and Life" of grade two as game learning content sources, this paper developed the instance with Macro media Flash CS5and Dreamweaver8as development platform and with the Action Script3.0and HTML as development language.Due to the limit of time and development technology, even though the design and development of the educational game can reflect the intentions and ideas of researcher, there are still many problems and shortcomings, future research will focus on ways in how educational games and social skills training model can integration better.
