Reading, including extracurricular and class reading, is generally regarded as the basisof the formation of students’ language proficiency.Thus become the core-curricular inlanguage teaching. However, many factors from social,family and the education systemshould be blame to distract students from a sound reading. The lack of time, texts and theguide of using texts are common problems in reading, especially extracurricular reading.This paper is based on <Language Curricular Standard in Compulsory Education>(2011), and also abide by the related pedagogic and psychology. Many methods, such asdocument research, cases analysis, data analysis and methodology, are used to examine thestatus quo of extracurricular reading and the use of these reading texts.At the very beginning, the paper pointed out the significance of the improvement oflanguage extra-curricular reading texts, as well as perplex of the texts’ improvement. Andthen, it proposed that literature resource (e.g. Chinese textbooks and Classic Literature)must be utilized with multi-angle and multi-dimension thoughts. Also surplus value and theextension among literature should be considered to advance the quality and quantity,broaden the horizons in extracurricular reading, and finally improve the ability of students’Chinese accomplishment. |
