In recent years, under the strong support of national policy, the scale of thehigher vocational colleges in our country to get fast development, higher vocationalcolleges of education as the mainstay of national and social andeconomicdevelopment, achieve socialist modernization in China and an important role. Xi ’anas key cities of the country’s western development, not only in a strategic position inthe geographic location, and other aspects of development also affects the whole ofwestern development. The development of higher vocational colleges and universitiessports teaching situation is one of them.In this article, through questionnaires and visiting methods such as investigationof the xi ’an sports teaching situation of higher vocational colleges, research contentmainly is the college teachers, teaching content, teaching methods, extracurricularactivities, space equipment, etc. Analysis pointed out that higher vocational collegesof xi ’an finally advantages and existing problems in the process of development.Aimed at various higher vocational colleges in the later development process toprovide some reference.The conclusion is as follows;1The goal of Higher Vocational Colleges sports teaching is not clear. Studentsin sports learning motive is not correct, sport practice classes did not play the mainrole.2Aspects of physical education teaching content, teaching content is not muchcontact with students, sports content is not scientific at the time of the arrangement.Lead to enthusiasm of students in physical education is low.3The use of sports teaching materials do not meet the standards. Most of thecolleges and universities are not based on its own characteristics, selection ofmaterials, resulting in teaching practice does not coordinate.4Teachers and students lack of proportion, amounting to less than the nationalminimum standards. Most sports teachers, although the age structure is improvedsomewhat, but during the on-the-job training work.5The evaluation indicators of physical education teaching is not reasonable.The majority of teachers on student achievement evaluation index is not uniformprovisions, and the index of the lack of scientific, leading students dissatisfied.6The sports teaching method is monotonous, boring. Teachers in the teachingmethod of sports practice course is obsolete, teachers are not scientific in the arrangement of teaching contents and methods.7College physical teaching environment development lags behind. The majorityof the school sports venues is less, lack of sports equipment.
