Teaching model is a summary and refining for teaching practices, which is a kind of bottom-toptheory conclusion and construction process; it is a teaching frame system formed through integratingand refining numerous teaching practices, which is generally summarized by teachers with richteaching experiences; common applicability of teaching model is embodied in teaching contents withhomogeneity, namely as for teaching contents whose requirements to learning are similar, theirteaching processes can be designed through referring to a the same kind of teaching model. Therefore,as the general summary and theoretical construction of teaching practices, teaching model can becompletely used in guiding teaching processes of geography. Seen from behavior guidanceimplemented by teaching model, application of teaching model in geography classroom teaching ofsenior high school may be influenced by Educational Psychology, Principles of Instructional Design,Professional Knowledge System of Geography, and Geography Teaching Theory. Seen from functionsof teaching model, effective use of a kind of specific teaching model can assist teachers in achievingsome designated teaching objectives to a greater degree. As a kind of explicit teaching behavior, wecan also improve effectiveness of teaching model during its application in geography classroomteaching of senior high school through such forms as classroom observation, after-class reflection,lesion evaluation of peers, and expert guidance, so as to promote effective matching between teachingmodel and teaching contents for geography of senior high schools.The thesis is divided into five parts:Part1: the topic’s background, significances, research overviews, and interpretation of majorconcepts are mainly introduced.Part2: four environmental systems, namely social need, school, family, and companion,influencing implementation of geography teaching model are mainly analyzed on the basis ofsocial-ecological system theory proposed by Bronfenbrenner.Part3: as main body of the thesis, the rational matching between five relatively mature teachingmodels, namely direct teaching, concept teaching, inquiry teaching, cooperative learning, andproblem-centered teaching, and teaching contents for geography of senior high schools is directlydiscussed.Part4: effectiveness for the application process of teaching model is preliminarily discussed fromthe angle of effective teacher, effective teaching, and autonomous learning.Part5: some teaching explorations conducted by the author since2002are presented; contentsmainly include: influences of learning plan on learning motivations, promotion for the construction ofstudent-parent-teacher three-dimensional integrated education system on student’s learning, andtheoretical construction for new teaching model of “SQ4R” learning strategy.
