With the guidance of modern service industry development strategy ofInner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Baotou has regarded the tourismindustry development as one of its strategic focus in the future, the integrationof Mongolian, Tibetan and Han architecture and culture attracted a largenumber of domestic and foreign tourists. The tourism development hasbrought about rapid development of the hotel industry in Baotou and a largedemand for hotel management professionals. The Baotou service managementvocational school the only vocational schools for the training of theprofessionals for the tertiary industry in Baotou, has cultivated a large numberof professionals for the hotels in Baotou. However, there was some mismatchbetween the hotel requirements and the school’s training objectives, somestudents are short of the comprehensive vocational abilities, can not adaptquickly to work requirements and change the job frequently. The thesisanalyzed the problems existed in the Hotel management specialty in Baotouservice management vocational school and suggested some improvementmeasures, so the thesis would be with some practical significance.First, the thesis clarified the fundamental purpose of secondaryvocational education, analyzed the characteristics of secondary vocationaleducation and summarized the major training model established by domesticand foreign scholars. Compared with the mature training model in westerncountries, the exploration of the training model in China is still in its primarystage.Then, the thesis described the current status of talent training system inHotel management specialty in Baotou service management vocational school,analyzed the problems existed in training system: first, the cultivation targetwas obscure with more relatively high and mixed objective; second, thecurriculum does not focus on the cultivation of the students comprehensive vocational ability; third,“practice-theory integration teaching pattern” hasnot been well-understood and fulfilled, the teachers professional skills,teaching quality and school hardware facilities need to be improved; finally,with a small number of professional teachers,"Double quality" teacher, andthe teachers from the enterprises, the faculty structure did not meet therequired standard.Finally, the thesis gave some countermeasures for the furtherimprovement of the talent training. first, establish more clear trainingobjectives based on the market demand,---to cultivate the professionals withprimary management ability and corresponding skills, who are suitable forposition in hotels, restaurants, lobby, recreation and other front-line receptionposition. Second, reconstruct the curriculum system with the core of thevocational ability cultivation, reinforce the teaching method reform, adopt“Working and Learning Alternation “method to enhance the students’practicing quality, introduce vocational eligibility evaluation criteria tostrengthen the students’ job skills development and training. Third, strengthenthe cooperation between the enterprise and the school to strengthen theenterprise role in the talent training. Fourth, strengthen the cultivation of"Double quality” teacher, invite more professionals from enterprise to build adiversified faculty.
