In recent years, Embedded controller is extensively being used in all kind of fieldswith its excellent performance, low power consumption, small and volume characteristic.Embedded controller plate localization system has become a trend. But because theprocessor must have excellent performance and openration ability, most of the the researchof embedded vehicle plate recognition system is based on DSP chip on the market. DSPchip has excellent processing, but at the same time it has some disadvantage, such ashigh cost, no operating system, not easy to be managed and so on. Therefore, the papermainly studies image collection system and the realization of the function of license platelocation based on samsung s3c6410 processor, and realizes image processing of thelicense plate localization process by QT/Emebbed. So it can improve performance, lowcost. The main contents of the paper are as follows.First of all, the paper introduces the research background of embedded vehicle platerecognition system, and summarize development status and the research direction in thefield of license plate identification at home and broad,and propose the research fields andthe main works.Second, there have some of the research study in License plate location methods, andit introduces the realization of the license plate localization algorithm: Combined with thecolor edge detection and mathematical morphological method. By using the recursionalgorithm seed regional orientation Realize the orientation of the license plate,then do thelicense plate Angle detection by Hough transform,finished. The license plate tiltcorrection.Again, the thesis studies the color image edge processing method, and combines withthe filter way based on fuzzy operator, and this can fathestly restrain from no plate regionnoise interference. The paper uses of mathematical morphology algorithm and theimproved 8-neighborhood area recursion labeling to find the license plate area, and alsofind the license plate area through the license plate texture feature, and complete thelicense plate tilt correction by Hough transform. Finally, this paper gives S3C6410 image acquisition and video monitoring hardwaredesign and software implementation scheme, client hardware design scheme; and thepaper also proposes the construction of the Linux software platform method based onARM for design as the core, and completed the program design of image collection, andfinish QTE license plate localization interface design.
