With the rapid development of economic and science&technology in our country, the quantity andheight of the tall structures such as building, radio&television tower and power plant chimney etc. aregrowing quickly. As the same time, civil aviation, military aviation and the flights and routes of other usesare also extending. In this new era, aviation obstacle light, which is used to indicate barrier’s height andoutline for aircraft, is becoming more and more important. It is significantly for aviation obstacle light tooperate in order to ensure flight and construction safety. However, the installation position of aviationobstacle light is generally extreme and the operation environment is relatively poor, which results in themalfunction inevitably. It is very necessarily to avoid security threat on aircraft and building by detectingmalfunction timely so that the maintenance person can solve the problem speedily.Firstly, this thesis analyzes the limitation in the existing monitoring modes of aviation obstacle lightand summarizes the requirement, target function and design principle of the monitoring system afterstudying the aviation obstacle light and fault characteristics. Then a remote monitoring solution onmalfunction of aviation obstacle light on distributed site is proposed. This new signal collection method isintegrated SOC MCU with CAN bus on site and based on GSM/GPRS net for remote communication.Secondly, this thesis provides an overall design on the monitoring system from the specific function, andgives the working process with three monitoring modes of remote communication strategy. The systembased on the above design is realized eventually. Finally, in order to fundamentally ensure the monitoringsystem operating reliably on the industrial site, a combining means of various anti-interference measureson monitoring system is adopted after researching the EMC technology and deeply analyzing theelectromagnetic interference specification of the monitoring environment, the measured object and themonitoring system itself in this thesis.The distributed remote monitoring system for aviation obstacle light malfunction researched in this paper has been used in power plant and achieved the expected technical targets. But the deeper meaning ofthe thesis is to provide a newly and efficient malfunction monitoring method and optimizing managementmode for aviation obstacle light maintenance provider. This system can also be extended to the shipping,electric power, telecommunications, hydrological and meteorological fields etc. At the same time, theapplication of the system also reduces the input of client on monitoring, and help the maintenance party toincrease service efficiency and enhance the management level so as to strengthen the enterprises’competitiveness with customer satisfaction growing. This management concepts and actual experience canbe shared with more enterprises.
