Greenhouse cultivation industry has become one of important indicators measuring thedevelopment of modern agriculture. The monitoring and control of greenhouse environmentalparameters is the only way to let the greenhouse cultivation industry intelligent and automatic.Existing monitoring and control system is of poor stability, low reliability and high cost of installationand maintenance. So it can’t meet the requirements of intelligent and automatic agriculture. So, thesubject develops “the monitoring system for greenhouse environment based on WSN”. It uses a multi-sensor technology and communication technology of merging the Zigbee wireless sensor network,GPRS network and Internet to monitor and control greenhouse environment remotely. It solves theexisting problems of the monitoring and control system existed and is of great significance forgreenhouse industry in our country.This paper presents the overall design of the system and gives a detailed exposition from thehardware and software design. Hardware design includes the design of the terminal node andaggregation node. The soil moisture sensor, light sensor and Zigbee communication module isdesigned by the author. Software design includes the formation of wireless sensor network, the datatransmission of terminal nodes, the data transmission between nodes, the communicaton betweenaggregation node and the remote monitoring center. The design of system hardware and software isdescripted in the paper. Finally, we test the two sensors and Zigbee communication module and thewhole system.The results show the performance of the two sensors and Zigbee communicationmodule designed by myself is reliable and the whole system has features of low cost, real-time, highstability and good expansibility. It has obvious advantages compared to existing greenhouse remotemonitoring and control system and achieves the pre-design goals.
