As wireless communication rapidly developing, quality of service (QoS) hasbecomes one of a vital performance measurements. However, to guarantee the QoS ofwireless communication network is a challenge issue. Its main reason lies in thetime-varying and bursting of wireless channel capacity, which makes the data ratesensible to channel variation. Once information source rate exceeds the system data rate, the arriving time of datagram may exceed the maximum tolerance value, which leads tothe invalidation of datagram in the time-delay-sensible data stream. Over wirelessnetwork, the most scarce radio resources are power and spectral bandwidth. Therefore,a great deal of research has been devoted to the issue of efficient resource allocation ofwireless communication network. Moreover, resource allocation is a hot issue inwireless network domain at present. Further, in the wireless mobile network theinevitable trend is to provide QoS guarantee for users and the key to guarantee QoS isrational allocation of resource. Under those foregoing circumstances, this papereffectively integrates information theory with effective capacity and proposes aQoS-driven resource allocation strategy. This strategy aims to optimally allocatingresources and provide different QoS guarantee for wireless communication network. The main research works and achievements of this paper include these aspectsbellow:①Wireless collaborative relay network: it analyzes the basic principle ofcollaborative communication and detailedly explains certain commonly used relayprotocols in collaborative communication. Then it introduces two system models ofcollaborative relay network, and base on which it analyzes wireless asymmetrycollaborative relay network network, which is the base this paper researches on.②The QoS guarantee based on effective capacity: the bases this paper researcheson are effective capacity and information theory, which introduces informationknowledge of statistical QoS guarantee, effective bandwidth, effective capacity and soforth. Combining effective capacity theory and statistical QoS guarantee, it comes to thestatistical QoS guarantee based on effective capacity.③Resource allocation over point-to-point communication: power and rateadaptation strategy is the key to improve spectrum efficiency. It analyzes conditionalpower-control strategy—water-filling and total channel inversion method, and proposes the optimal power and rate adaptation strategy, based on which it simulates to comparethose foregoing strategies, and prepares for the further research in④.④Resource allocation of wireless asymmetric collaborative relay network: itanalyzes the optimal resource allocation strategies of amplify-and-forward (AF) anddecode-and-forward (DF) relay network, based on which it independently solves theoptimal resource allocation strategy of estimate-and-forward (EF) relay network.Besides, setting the typical network as an example, it proposes a self-adaptive relaynetwork method based on dynamic resource allocation strategy which can dynamicallychoose between existing AF, DF and EF according to the requirements of system QoS.Finally, its serviceability is testified by simulation.
