With the widely application of power electronics technologies, nowadays theelectrical harmonic pollution becomes a serious problem. It decreases the quality ofelectric power system, which becomes a difficulty problem to be resolved. Active powerfilter is an advanced power electronic device which can compensate the harmonicpollution. Research of active power filter is significant.The digital filter in the active power filter is studied in this paper. The performance ofthe digital filter is compared and digital filter is designed.The causes of harmonic and harmonic harm are discussed in the paper, a systemstructure of the active power filter is given. Harmonic current detection technology anddigital filter development trend are introduced in the article. harmonic current detectionmethod is also introduced in the article, instantaneous reactive power theory is thefoundation of this method.Low-pass filter parameters influence the harmonic current detection. Low-pass filterspecifications are analyzed in the article, the most appropriate low-pass filter is selected,the order number of the filter is determined.Digital filter is designed in the paper and the APF simulation model、the rectifiersimulation model and the inverter simulation model are established. Different simulationresults are gotten in this paper and the results are analyzed.Many factors will influence the harmonic current detection, so according to thesystem to select a suitable filter is very important.Active power filter system hardware and software are completed in the paper.Hardware development uses the hardware simulators and DSP control panel. Software isthe TI company’s CCS development system.
