With rapid development and wide application of computer and internet technology, instantmessaging software has become an important communication platform after E-mail and blogs.Meanwhile, the functions of instant messaging softwares have been enriched to entertainment, newsand information dissemination, ecommerce. The number of instant messaging software increasesrapidly and it is important to study the instant messaging software to give suggestions on how to keepits market place, and users how to choose their own softwares.Current study of instant messaging mainly focused on the technological innovation, applicationstatus and the impact on users. Instant messaging software is various, but lack of uniform standard.There still is not systematic application evaluation research of instant messaging software at homeand abroad. This thesis systematically studies the service functions and condition of the instantmessaging with qualitative and quantitative research methods, according to the affecting factors ofinstant messaging softwares on users, the characteristics of instant messaging softwares and theevaluation results of networks resources, softwares and service. Besides, this thesis has compared andanalyzed the higher frequencily used instant messaging and the feature of evaluation index system,and established the evaluation index system of instant messaging software with the Delphi methodand the analytic hierarchy process.Finally, this thesis selectes QQ, Fetion, MSN, Ali Wangwang, Renren as the empirical researchto verify the feasibility of the evaluation system with theory of user experience, and provides somemeaningful suggestions to users. Meanwhile, this thesis finds there are some improvements on theinteroperability, security, stability of the instant messaging software, and gives out some suggestionson instant messaging proveders how to seek competitive advantage.
