With the reforming of rural power distribution network, the construction of itsautomation system has become more and more important, especialy the Smoothcommunication is the key to that system. According to the rules of "fiber priority,wireless supplementary" by SGCC (State Grid Corporation of China), a tight couplingnetworking scheme between optical and wireless networks was proposed in this paper,which reached the principles of "simple networking, practical function, convenientmaintenance, reasonable investment".Firstly, the effects and functions of power distribution system were introduced, andthe significance of power distribution network in that system was emphasized. It isimportant to pay attention on the characteristics of traffics in distribution automationcombined with circumstances of rural power distribution network. According to theexisted power communication technologies, this paper expounds some technologies,such as Fiber Optic Communications (EPON), the Wireless private networkcommunication (McWILL) and the emerging PTN technology, which were appliedflexibly in power distribution network. In consideration of the different characteristicsin networking schemes between the fiber network solutions and the wireless networkscheme, a tight as well as loose coupling networking schemes combined fiber networkwith wireless network were grow. Because the rural power distribution networks havethe following characteristics, including the numerous nodes, the complex traffics andthe slow flows, and the existing facilities of them can not keep up with the greatchanges of industrial communication network, so two different optical transmissionequipments were designed.Finally, based on the project of “A rural power supply bureau in chongqingdistribution automation solutions”, a dual-plane transport mechanism was proposed,which achieved the tight coupling between optical and wireless networks. the schemewas analyzed in the advanced nature of technology and economy and achieved to ourgoal. in theory.This paper argues that, with the construction of Power distribution automationsystem, electric communication network were increased in communication capacity andreliability,the model of a dual-plane transport mechanism will be widely applied inDistribution Atomation.
