Recently,the video monitoring system has been used in many ereas of the people’s daily livessuch as mutimedia conference、telemedicine、distance education、picture phone and so on.With therapid development of the technology in embedded sysytem、digital image processing、mutimediaand network comunications,the video monitoring system is developing towards miniaturization、digitization and internetization.Embedded image monitoring system appears with the promote ofthese technology.The system has many functiongs such as video capture、video compress、videotransmit and so on.It also has many advantages such as small volume、high intergration、low powerconsumption、strong function、low cost and so on.It can meet the need of the monitoring system forthe family.From the perspective of the video monitoring development trend and market demand,I studythe OMAP3530 processor、Linux operating system and JPEG compression technology and thendesign a kind of embedded video monitoring system in Brower and Server mode.This article mailydiscuss the method how to build the web server and video server.The system can capture themonitoring image、transform the format of the signal into YUV、compress the image data andtransmit the image data to the target PC through the internet.When the target PC connects theserver,Java Applet can be downloaded and run automatically.It is used to receive the image data anddisplay the image on the Brower.This article introduces the system in three parts:hardware、software and system testing.In thefirst part, mainly build the development platform,select OMAP3530 as the center processor,use theanalog camera to capture the video images and design the decoding circuit based on the tvp5146chip.In the second part,firstly,build the development environment.It is include transplant ofX-Loader、U-boot、Linux2.6.28 kernel and ubifs file system.Secondly,build the web server includetransplanting the boa server ,designing the webpage program using and the video receive anddisplay program based on java applet technology.Thirdly,build the video server includetransplanting the jpeg compress library,designing the drive of tvp5146 chip under Linux operatingsystem,video capturing program based on the v4l2 standard,video compress program based on thejpeglib and video data transmit program based on the TCP/IP.When finish the design of the whole system include hardware and software,the test to eachmodule and the whole system are made.The test results show that the system work stably,videoimages can be displayed smoothly and clearly.The system can meet the requirements expected.
