| With the restructuring of the Chinese telecommunication industry, competition among the operators is becoming even fiercer. Customers are demanding for a better quality of wireless communication network and a greater variety of services while telecommunication companies are making less profit from the market. The widespread radio network is the interface between telecommunication networks and its users. As the basis of radio network, the network parameters are difficult to manage not only because they require frequent adjustments but also because they are time-bound and numerous. The management of these parameters will also directly affect the competitiveness of telecommunication companies.The dissertation first presents a centralized configuration management system of radio network parameters, which combines the parameter management process and the automatic authoring of parameters, after analyzing the current situation of the management of radio network parameters. An overall design of the centralized configuration and authoring system is proposed in the paper. Further detailed designs of parameter management process and important system functions are put forward as well. Methods to model, store and pattern parameters are presented for unified management of all types of equipment parameters. This provides a solution to the unified management of various different modes of facilities and it shows good scalability. A three-step parameter examining method and a template comparing method are presented to improve the efficiency of parameter examination. Also, rules of parameter application are established for the automatic generation of instructions and automatic adjustment of batches of parameters to improve work efficiency and data production accuracy. Network performance indicators are also associated with network parameters to evaluate performance automatically. A four-folded centralized configuration management system of radio network parameters, which features centralized management, examination process, unified production and performance evaluation, is finally proposed in the dissertation. Realized through IT technology, the system is tested through the application in practice and has been proved to be very promising in the effective management and safe control of radio network parameters. |
