Research And Development Of Antenna Factor Measurement System

Antenna is one of basic equipments in EMC test. Antenna factor is an important parameter of the antenna for electromagnetic compatibility. The accuracy of the antenna factor is related to the accuracy of the Electromagnetic Compatibility Measurement. The measurement of antenna factor has a very important significance for Electromagnetic Compatibility Measurement.Antenna factor measurement system which is based on the standard site method and network analyzer is deeply studied in this paper. It includes the introduction to methods of antenna factor measurement and calibration; automatic acquisition of amplitude and phase signal of network analyzer; configuration of the antenna factor measurement system that network analyzer is the core equipment.As basic knowledge, this paper first introduces the basic principle of electromagnetic compatibility and antenna theory; then discusses the several common methods of antenna factor measurement. The expression of antenna factor is also given. The main requirements of Open Area Test Site as a test site for standard site method and how to use SCPI instrument command through GPIB interface controlling network analyzer are discussed. Finally it describes the composition of the measurement system, explains the implementation method of the system and the measured results are given.
