After years of building the GSM network, network coverage is no longer a major problem. With the growing number of users and network traffic load, the constantly increasing cell configuration gives rise to denser frequency reuse, more interference and even quality deterioration within the network. The foregoing problems are well-illustrated in diversified road tests. What currently affects the quality of road tests consists with the adjacent channel interference.Network size and load are the direct cause for the rise of the frequency reuse density, yet different networks whose frequency allocation and network use are different differs in quality deterioration with their respective traffic loads. The future network will develop under the coverage of GSM900, with DCS 1800 network as the main traffic load, combined with street stations, indoor multi-dimensional network structure stations. Along with the development of the network structure come the new requirements on the proposed wireless network optimization. It follows that it is urgent to find new ideas and methods regarding the network optimization so as to adapt to the network changes with a view to maintaining the high-quality operation of the network. The study endeavors to improve the overall call quality by setting the different dual-band network parameters of the networks of DCS 1800 and GSM900, mainly covered by the GSM900 network with the DCS 1800 network as the main traffic load.Grounded upon the research of parameters setting in the three phases of cell-phone use, namely, the idle phase, the call setup phase and the call phase, the present paper attempts to demonstrate the improved quality of the network voice under the influence of dual-band network parameters, providing certain theoretical and practical support for the future DCS 1800 network construction.
