Long-range virtual experiment based on Internet is a kind of teaching software which applying virtual reality technology to simulate real experiment. Virtual experiment in distance education has not only became an important means of teaching but also an significant supplement for the teaching content online. However, because of the characteristics of time freedom in virtual experiment, Students can’t timely receive teacher guidance when they encountered some difficulties in the experimental process. The traditional way of online experimental instructions is to setting online FAQ which means teachers have to always be on line. It leads to the teacher resources waste greatly. How to provide an effective and real-time way of guiding students’ experiment from teachers has been a difficult problem for the virtual experiment teaching at home and abroad. Thus the research objectives of virtual experimental intelligent tutor system which realize a way that computers can replace teachers to guide the students’experiment are very important and significative.The author first analysis some difficulties within the development process of an original automatic correcting and intelligent tutor system based on circuit analysis of virtual experiment, and then explore the defects existing in the original system. According to the original intelligent tutor function, the author puts forwards improvement program and present the concept of guidance model. The design and implementation of the intelligent tutor system is in view of the guidance model. Furthermore, it is a subsystem of the whole virtual experiment system. The new version of intelligent tutor system overcomes the defects that original rule-making rely on the library of the experiment equipment and improve the way of making rules. Teachers can edit experiment rules expediently and design the instruction process by themselves.On that basis of the original correcting and intelligent tutor system based on virtual experiment, this paper focused on the requirements, design and implementation of the Interdisciplinary intelligent tutor system.According to the knowledge of expert system and rule engine, we re-develop the intelligent tutor system and made it clear framework and easy to extend. This system has already been applied to the experimental teaching. Through the practical tests and verifications, it has received the good effect.
