The 3rd Generation Partnership Project(3GPP) Long Term Evolution (LTE) Project is during the process of researching and industrialization. As the key technology of Evolved-Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Serves(E-MBMS), Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service Single Fre-quency Network(MBSFN) received much concern. The research is supported by "National Science & Technology Major Project—Research on Broadband Wireless Multimedia System".This paper focused on MBSFN technology in LTE system. Firstly, the related concepts of E-MBMS in LTE were introduced. The scheduling algorithm for MBSFN and the Discontinued Reception(DRX) scheme which is related to the terminal power-saving were particular discussed. We proposed that the terminal energy efficiency can be raised by reason-able scheduling algorithm. Then a system level simulation platform for MBSFN was established which provides a verification basis for related researches.Secondly, a power-saving scheduling algorithm (PSA) for constant timeslot structure in MBSFN was proposed. During the scheduling for MBMS, the PSA divided the MBSFN areas into several groups by the "no overlapping or adjacent" rule to reduce the interference. During the scheduling for unicast traffic, the PSA adjust the scheduling sequence of users and raised the energy efficiency of user by decreasing the switching times between sleeping and active status in the use of DRX.Finally, on the basis of the research on PSA, an adaptive pow-er-saving scheduling algorithm (APSA) was proposed for dynamic time-slot structure in MBSFN. The APSA aimed to raise the energy efficiency of UE while guarantee the data rates of MBMS. The simulation results show that the proposed strategy gains an improvement both in system throughput and the terminal’s energy efficiency.
