With the IP-directed evolution in the core network, soft switches have become the control equipments and widely deployed in 3G net work. However, there are the network safety problems following, and the network disaster recovery technology becomes more critical. MSC SERVER pool, virtual MGW as well as the flexibility to choose MGW, these technologies are the general options of deploying disaster recovery in supplier’s softswitch mobile network, while these technologies all exist defects.From the structural angle, soft-switch separates control and bearer, divides MSC of traditional 2G network into MSC SERVER and MGW. MSC SERVER is responsible for signaling, routing and business process, while MGW undertakes bearing of all business and disposing of voice and media streaming. As the exchanged messages between MSC SERVER and MGW are signaling bared on IP network, need little bandwidth, so they can be centrally located or pulled away. In that case, a MSC SERVER can control many MGWs to form a "large local network", corresponding to the current construction idea "high-capacity, few locations" of operational carriers.From the angle of capacity, the capacity of MSC in 2G network usually is from 20 to 40 million, while soft swtiches in 3G network up to one million or even greater. From former two aspects, it can be concluded that we must focus on protecting the safety of concentrated MSC SERVER, to prevent single point failure of MSC SERVER equipment, which may leads to the paralysis of a large area network. It is necessary to consider softswitch disaster recovery at early in building a network.This paper begins by describing the merits and defects of softswitch disaster recovery methods such as dual homing and Iu-Flex, focusing on soft-switching synchronous data disaster recovery, switching mechanism of disaster recovery system, the configuration of signaling points, GT and MSC ID as well as other key technical issues, taking network devices for example for configuration of specific data. On this basis, considering the actual situation, it brings out plan and the implementation of disaster recovery according to the general construction idea of supplier, and makes switching tests to built network for evaluating the working effect of disaster recovery network. It also propose rehabilitation programs as the current network can not carry out disaster recovery protection for MGW and alternative SERVER are long time spared.This paper completes the following tasks, dual homing disaster recovery plan of softswitch network, and putting forward specific data production plan according to the networking solution, according to the existing net situation proposing and implementing the main/standby switch plan of softswitch SERVER.
