| With the rapid development of information technology in manufacturing industry, modern enterprises should satisfy the new requests on control methods and monitoring strategy if they want to develop the integrative system which includes Autocontrol and MIS, especially in discrete manufacturers, which are the most essential component of modern industries. As the manufacture system is becoming more and more complicated, we should not only monitor and control the shop floor equipments, but also have to integrate the production technology with other operation processes, such as purchase, material arrangement and preparation, assembly and packaging, stock control, supply chain and product sales.It is clear that traditional control strategy can not fundamentally resolve this problem. As one of the main modeling and simulation tools for Discrete Event Dynamic System (DEDS), Petri net can describe the structure of the system vividly by a simple network graph. What’s more, we can make quantitative analysis of the deadlock, cycle time and invariant, which is the greatest concern to the production managers. Therefore, Petri net becomes an ideal tool in automatic control system design and modeling. In this article, we propose a new petri net model of robot, and transform it into a ladder diagram for PLC, which is widely used in industry control system. With this approach, it will provide great convenience in management, troubleshooting and shop floor control of the discrete manufacturing systems, which is of great value on improving the factory performance when we manage and coordinate plant operations. |
