With the progress of science and technology and the improvement of people’s livingstandard, people compete more and more severely and their demand for choosing printed matter.Especially in the field of packaging and printing, once the color deviation will seriously affectpeople’s visual impact. But now, a lot of printing color control technology in some printingenterprises remained at a lower level,"the material waste" and "work efficiency low" wasalready the pronoun of traditional technology that cannot satisfy the high efficiency ofproduction and operation of the digital mode in21stcentruy. The development of machine visiontechnology offers the possibility to solve this problem. However, the application of machinevision technology in the field of printing mostly in defect detection, but not more matureapplications to control color.This paper proposed a method of testing print color quality online based on machine visiontechnology according to the research of digital image processing technology.First,building areal-time image acquisition system.Regression analysis is used to get the relationship betweenthe RGB values of the image and the density values of all colors after pretreatment of theimage.Finally, different printing control strips will be designed to simulate the differentsituations in the actual printing production process to test the accuracy of the algorithm.After Verifying the reliability of the algorithm,C++programming language will be used tocalculate the offset of the density of all colors according to the verified algorithm and displayintuitively in the software. Printing workers can adjust the ink amount according to the offset ofthe density. In this way, not only can save printing workers’ time and improve productionefficiency, but also can guarantee the objectivity and accuracy of color control.
