Nowadays, with the rapid development of the modern electronics industry, thecommunication system becomes wireless and miniaturization. And as an essential part inwireless communication system, antenna plays an increasingly important role in modernwireless communication. As an easy processing, easy integration antenna type, printedantenna receives unprecedented attention. In addition, in order to accelerate the designcycle of the antenna, antenna-aided design software development is very necessary.First of all, this paper introduced the current development of printed antenna and thebasic knowledge of antenna design. On this basis, a new type of printed self-complementary antenna was designed, which realized ultra-wideband by gradient linestructure, and the measured result showed that this method was feasible. Secondly, byresearch on circularly polarization microstrip antenna with two feeding points, a new ideawhich took FSS as a director unit cover antenna array to improve the antenna gain wasproposed. A2*2circularly polarized antenna array and the corresponding FSS structurewas designed and produced, which was proved to have good performance. Finally, on thepurpose of shortening the design cycle of the antenna, a set of antenna-aided designsoftware was designed, which worked well in the specific antenna design case.There are three parts in this thesis. First of all, the self-complementary structuretheory was discussed and a self-complementary antenna was designed based on the theory,which broadens antenna’s bandwidth. And the parameters of the self-complementary wereanalyzed by numerical simulation software in details. Then the antenna was fabricated andmeasured, the results indicated that bandwidth of self-complementary antenna was broadeneffectively with good radiation performance and stable gain.Secondly, the circular polarization antenna theory was discussed and a circularpolarization antenna unit with two feeding point was raised based on the theory. And then acircularly polarization antenna array was proposed by the unit analyzed before. Theparameters of the antenna array were analyzed and optimized by numerical simulationsoftware in details. In order to get a higher gain performance, an FSS structure was used tocover the array. Then the antenna array was fabricated and measured. The results showed that this circularly polarization antenna array completely meet the demand of BeiDousystem. Next, an antenna acid design system was discussed and analyzed, and the modulesof the system were introduced in details. Then by design an example of case todemonstrate that the antenna acid system might reduce the period of antenna designeffectively. Finally, the entire work and the future prospect of the relevant research workare summarized.Through the design of two new printed antennas, the author’s experience inengineering practice has been highly enhanced. And the design of the antenna-aided designsystem provides strong support for the rapid design of the antenna.
