With the rapid development of electronic, communication and network technology and the increase of people’s living standard, people more and more need the smart home. This may change the traditional way of people’s live, and make people concentrate to do their things. This paper multiply the embeded system technology and ZigBee technology, to control the ZigBee module based on embedded processor, and with network technology, let people can login browser remotely to control their home. So I get a solution of smart home based on embedded system. And the critical work is below:Firstly, Analyze the solution to Smart Home, propose a solution based on embedded technology and ZigBee technology by comparing some solution. Secondly, Use ARM11development board as core, transplant the linux opration system, make the file system, transplant embedded Web server, build up the home gateway development platform.Thirdly,Analyze the ZigBee technology and protocol, make some new programs by suitable software platform on hardware module, to let the module can implement their own function, and to commucate to the development board. Forthly, Developed programs on gateway by CGI technology, the request of user from long distance can deliver to ZigBee modules, so we get the result of remote monitor. Fifly, Designed a network station for remote user, let the user oprate to monite their home, at the same time transplant ffmpeg library, and implement the remote monitor of video.
