With the development of science and technology in the current society, degree of information technology has been greatly improved in the human society.people’s requirements for the information is also growing, some of the traditional methods of transmission of information, such as text and sound, far from being able to meet the needs of people. We require visual intuitive information at the present time. The information obtained intuitive, vivid, and contains a wealth of information needs. It also needs to integrate and utilize a variety of ways. Multimedia is in line with requirements. We use more and more multimedia in our daily life. Vivid and informative of the characteristics of Video multimedia, precisely because of these characteristics, more and more multimedia make loved by more people. However, due to the existing wired network infrastructure, it has limited the effective range of multimedia transmission.Mobile Ad Hoc Networks is going on development, as well as wireless terminal equipment, transmission of multimedia has become the important directions in mobile Ad Hoc Networks scientific research. Mobile Ad Hoc Networks’characteristics:no central access point,do not need to set a special node for maintenance on the network, the status of all nodes is equal to the same within the network, it is can freely join or withdraw from the network to within the network nodes, and does not affect the normal use of the network. But because of these characteristics of Mobile Ad hoc Networks, Making use of what kind of routing protocol to support the operation of the network becomes the difficulty of application of Mobile Ad Hoc Networks.This paper presents an introduction to the Mobile Ad Hoc Network routing protocols and analyzes its multimedia features. In the first place, it uses the H.264video compression standard and this standard is optimal compression in the current. at the same time, it is used MDC, FEC technologies to enhanced video of the error correction of the fault-tolerant in multimedia compression. In the next place, this paper uses the OPNET simulator to create a simulation platform, and set the simulation various parameters. It used five different routing protocols respectively in the case of using the same simulation parameters. The use of H.264encoded video stream for transmission, then comparative analysis of the performance. To use OLSR routing protocol for video transmission in Ad Hoc Networks, the throughput of the network get improved. This paper has conducted in-depth study to the OLSR routing protocol, proposed an algorithm based on ant colony optimization, it conducted to improved protocol of solving the minimum MPR set. Through simulation trials we prove its effectiveness.
