| With the increasing popularity of the Internet, network technology research has developed rapidly. But since always, the deployment of large-scale business network is completely privilege of professional network operators and switching equipment manufacturers. The commercial networks, from device to protocol, are deployed with fully mature technology. The latest technology in the lab can not be tested in practice, but only simply verified on small experiment platform. The emergence of openflow provides a expandable, customizable, controllable and programmable experimental platform for the network researchers. The deployment of large-scale network is no longer a few company’s privilege. And what’s more, researchers can apply their own protocol, algorithm and latest network research result on openflow platform freely, without the restriction of the switching device. This bring the network innovation research great motivation.Openflow technology is based on the flow table in the switcher, take advantage of the architecture that separates forwarding and controlling. Open and high-level API exports the capability of network to researchers fully. Many foreign universities and researcher institutions have began their own openflow network deployment with a variety of software and hardware openflow switchers. GENI project makes the openflow networks that located everywhere connect with each other, to form a internet-sized experimental platform. The technologies that are used for network-interconnect are mainly of layer two, for example, VLAN, direct fiber and so on. The research projects focusing on lay three network connect technology are quite few.This paper first introduced the current network research situation, development and related technology of openflow. Secondly it introduced the openflow network interconnect technology and layer three routing service requirement. And then it introduced the existing research project that forced providing traditional routing service on openflow network, analyzed the shortage and put forward our solution:abstract the whole openflow network as an router in the existing IP network, with the control of a concentrated controller, the whole openflow network external character is as same as a standard router. Finally it described the detailed design of the system and the validation process. The results of experiment showed that the solution can provide openflow network basic routing service function. |
