With the rapid development of Internet technologies, the services type and traffic running on current network tend to be huger. Simultaneously, it has put up challenges to network’s QoS technologies that users’requirements to service transmitting qualities have increased gradually. With the continuous existing of new services, traditional Internet has to fix its old architecture to meet new requirements coming from these new services, which makes the network architecture become more redundant and heterogeneous, and bring serious challenges to new technologies applied in the network. Therefore, traditional Internet architecture has become insufficient for the QoS requirement of new kinds of services. It is the ultimate way to resolve this problem to design and implement a new kind of network architecture which meets the characteristics and requirement of current networks.OpenFlow is a new network switching model proposed by Stanford University in 2008. This paper has designed and implemented an centralized QoS management system based on Click Modular Router open source software under OpenFlow network, which can meet QoS design requirement and purposes of current OpenFlow networks with the help of current mature IP QoS technologies and ideas of QoS management systems. Moreover, the functions of our management system have been verified by running practical services in the experimental network. The paper summarizes the current status and development of Internet technology and the new demands it faces at the beginning. Then, the paper introduces the necessity of designing new network architecture and its related technologies. Secondly, according to the QoS functional requirements of OpenFlow network, the paper proposed the framework of a centralized QoS management system, and did detailed analysis and elaboration of the system functions needed to be achieved. After the system implementation according to the design scheme, the reserved functions of management system have been confirmed by scenarios verification and related results analysis. In the end, we summarized the whole paper, and the shortcomings of current system architecture and future work are shown.
