This system is an inventory and storage system of the original remote-sensing data, belonging to the data integration and management system for Multi-source earth observation, which is a part of the State 863 Project "the Product Generation and Application of the Characteristic Parameters of the Global Land Surface". The establishment of the characteristic parameters of the global land surface production system can well support the research of the global change and the development of the Earth system models in our country. The work for the inventory and storage of the original remote-sensing data in our system is an important part of the data management system in the project.This paper designed and and implemented the storage system of the massive satellites remote-sensing data meta-data by multi-client concurrency to achieve the meta-data information storage. In the paper, I classify and deal with the remote-senseing data after analyzing the characteristics of the remote-sensing data. A lot of processing strategies for the meta-data storage system are provided, such as sub-table storage, buliding tables for statistics, redundancy and index and so on. The system includes the storage device management, the remote-sensing meta-data management, the remote-sensing meta-data queries, the user management and the reverse remote-sensing meta-data queries. At the same time JNLP protocol, the digital signature of Java and httpclient technology are used to achieve the concurrent processing of multiple clients in the process of the meta-data information storage system.The system can afford more than 100 users to visit at the same time, the system has been put into use in the team of the State 863 Project now, the further development is on the way. The system provides a platform for the satellite remote-sensing data and meta-data management, it lays a foundation for the following data processing and product development of the State 863 Project ’the Product Generation and Application of the Characteristic Parameters of the Global Land Surface’.
