This subject derives from National Science-technology Support Plan Project "Maritime distress targets fast approaching technique" aiming at high-definition observation and accurate positioning on the underwater target and surrounding environment, which enable images as well as positioning information to real-time transmit and display in the upper order computer system of the salvage lifting vessel, and to provide powerful and technical support for professionals to make effective salvage plans and reduce economic loss to a large extent.This paper first selects carrier system and analyzes common underwater detection carrier such as manned submersible, autonomous underwater vehicle (hereafter referred to as AUV), remotely operated vehicles (hereafter referred to as ROV), advantages and disadvantages of the deep towing system. According to the project requirements, this paper finalizes the ROV as the system carrier and carries underwater high-definition imaging, and introduces the selected the key techniques of ROV.In the system design of underwater target high-definition imaging, this paper analyzes the current main underwater imaging method and selects the combination of acoustic and optic. When target distance is farther, it adopts forward-looking sonar to acoustic imaging of targets, and gets sonar image through target recognition and target confirmation.In the system design of underwater target accurate positioning, this paper analyzes and compares the current main underwater target positioning method, and proposes a kind of positioning method that combines collaborative ultra-short baseline, positioning device of forward-looking sonar, and satellite navigation system. It adopts the ultra-short baseline positioning method to position the distance between salvaging vessel and ROV.
