| Based on the techniques of Direct3D and the MFC given by Microsoft, this paper studied the development methods concerning the three-dimensional visualization of the Digital Elevation Model.Firstly, this paper reviewed the related theory, techniques and arithmetic of the visualization of DEM based on Direct3D and MFC, including the pretreatment technology on generation of3D terrain, the material, lighting and texture mapping. And then, based on the available results and MFC, the3D scene of the given test area was developed. The main results are as follows:(1) According to the theory and arithmetic on Grid, a regular grid of the test area was constructed.(2) On the basis of the pretreatment technology on generation of3D terrain, the3D terrain was rendered.(3) The measuring and calculation of terrain such as the distance between point to point, the area of arbitrary polygon, and the volume of solid was discussed based on the arithmetic of Digital Terrain Analysis(DTA).(4) Combined with the flow characteristics of water, the feature lines were extracted out and the area of water catchment calculated.(5) The skybox technique and water reflection methods were imported into the display system, and the terrain looks more realistic.(6) In accordance with the vector diagram of the road, a feasible modeling of road was proposed. |
