Expert system is an intelligent computer program system, it contains a large amount of domain expert knowledge and experience, it can be able to mimic human expert thinking to solve complex problems. It is the most active and important part application fields of artificial intelligence, it realizes the artificial intelligence from theoretical research to practical applications, from general inference strategy to discuss the use of the expertise major breakthrough. Agricultural expert system (AES) is a computer system which using expert system knowledge in the field of agriculture. Agricultural expert system based on agricultural field expert knowledge can simulate the agricultural experts thinking for reasoning and decision-making. It plays a key role in agricultural development and it has been widely concerned research. This article is part of Guangdong Province Science and technology plan project, through continuous in-depth study of Guangdong Province crop production knowledge, adopting flexible B/S structure, using J2EE, data base, dynamic webpage technology, to develop12396Expert Knowledge Base System, implementation crop production consulting and insect pests diagnosis, upgrading and maintaining the system through Background Maintenance Module. The main work of this paper is as followings:(1) Learned and mastered the technology, to construct spark12396expert knowledge base system. Determination of Web server, construct standard data table by using SQL server database system, input various data analysis finishing, prepare for reasoning machine and other modules of the system. Use Java programming language and JSP dynamic webpage technologies to design the system.(2) Determined the overall research goal of the system, designed the whole structure and function module of the system, hardware and software development environment of the system and run the demo.(3) After determining research objectives and the overall structure of the system, this paper collected the knowledge of crop production, pictures and other information by literature reviews, survey researches and call the train datas, realized the construction of knowledge base, model base, inference engine through analysis, summary information and combined with expert system development technology. Finally, constantly testing and debugging the system, improved the system based on experts modification suggestions, popularize and apply the system, further perfect the system based on the user feedback information and the new demand.We used ASP development technology and inference engine technology to collect the information of production management characteristics, types of pests and diseases, diagnosis, occurrence, prevention and treatment for main crops in Guangdong (cucumber for example), and finally developed an expert knowledge base system and application. The system can provide management and technical services for crops production in Guangdong area, promote the advanced new technology of pest control, raise agricultural science and technology content and production efficiency, promote the region’s agricultural industrialization, raise the efficiency of crop pests and diseases prevention and control, reduce the loss, managing expenditure, reduce the use of pesticides volume and residual quantity, improve the quality of crops, and has the important significance.
