Catering industry, one of the most ancient businesses, derived with emerging of the human society, and developed with the advance of the human history. However, with respect to the rapid development of modern electronic technology, embedded technology and smart operating system, the process of digitalization of the catering industry is comparatively slow. The principal method of management and marketing is so outdated that it severely confines the increasing of overall efficiency in the catering industry. Smart Ordering System, based on RK2818chip, employing the advanced Wi-Fi wireless network communication technology, combining embedded technology and network programming technology, provides an excellent reference scheme for the digitalization of the catering industry. The ultimate purpose is to reinforce the work efficiency of the catering industry, improve the quality of service, save the cost of labor, offer innovative dining experience to customers.Firstly, this dissertation introduces the progress situation of domestic and oversea catering industry, analyzes the principal contradiction, presents the overall solution of software and hardware, which are depending on the model selection of embedded system, wireless communication technology and smart operation system. In those selections, RK2818is taken as a microprocessor platform, Wi-Fi as the approach of wireless communication, and Android as the operating system on which applications will be developed.Secondly, efforts are devoted to analyze the hardware design scheme, integration scheme of the system kernel and customized solution of Android System, elaborate the procedure of application development, design of the database system, analysis of network data, and storage scheme of data.Finally, the running result of system emulator would be deeply analyzed and conclusions would be reached in the latter part. In addition, predictions about the unfulfilled work and functions to be optimized will complete this dissertation.
