In recent years, with the continuous development and application of wireless technology, electromagnetic waves in the nature is increasingly complex, which brings many unfavorable factors, such as measurement accuracy, to the outdoor testing of missiles, satellites and other equipments. As we all know, the anechoic chamber provides a shield electromagnetic environment. Testing in the anechoic chamber is security, no radiation interference and not affected by weather factors. So the anechoic chamber has attracted the attention of more and more people.Firstly, the domestic and international status and research background is presented in the paper, as well as design methods and performance indicators of anechoic chamber. And the performance of absorbing materials is studied from full-wave theory.Then a practical project is given about a certain aviation institute, In this project, performance parameters, such as reflection level, the field amplitude uniformity, cross-polarization and path loss, are studied with the method of the ray propagation path and the receiving electric field. And now more research focuses on the empty anechoic chamber. This paper pays attention to the electromagnetic compatibility of multiple devices in the anechoic chamber and makes a detailed research when adding different devices involved in this project in proper order. Finally the performance of the anechoic chamber is summarized, and optimization schemes are given.
