| Along with the rapid development of the power industry, the agricultural electricians have become an important role in the rural electricity industry. However, our relatively weak training does not adapt with the growing demand of the agricultural electricians, and frequent accidents are caused. Agricultural electricians not only must be subjected to rigorous trainings, but must pass the examination before operating electrical equipment. However, the traditional training method needs longer training time, wastes many manpower and material resources and is insecurity, and causes that the training does not reach the designated position, and leaves hidden trouble behind. Simulation training system of tower crane based on virtual reality technology with economy, security, high efficiency characteristics does not accept time, climate and the location of the restrictions. This system can regulate the operator’s behavior and improve benefit of the enterprise training by means of it, and will have wide applied prospect.In this paper, first, the virtual reality technology is briefly summarized, characteristics, requests and key technologies of the simulation training system based on virtual reality technology are analyzed, so as to determine the development program that the system is based on Virtools integration platform, uses software PPT to write tutorial on basics knowledge and software3DS MAX to create geometrical models of the system and software Virtools to drive the models. Then, according to the requirements of actual training and performance evaluation, the function and architecture of this system are designed. In this system, modular design is adopted and the whole system according to functions is divided into some subsystems such as electrical knowledge module, instrumentation selection module, the training project selection module, the demo module, assessment module, and the perspective to switch module.Among them, agricultural electrician technical training and skills training are key points.
